Driver side drop divorced transfer case

 · For my little Mitsubitchy "W50" Diesel i was limited on Axle Choices (driver side drop only) because of the stock Transfer Case. The problem is, the KMD (5-Speed Overdrive) transmission is shifted through the transfer case (and finding a 2wd KMD wouldnt be worth the time/money/hassle). So my plan. This transfer case functioned identical to others and had a front and rear driveshaft. The entire transfer case assembly was hung from the frame on a crossmember-type mount. The Divorced Atlas can be built as either a right or left drop unit. The shifters and crossmember are sold as a . Once you know that you have a NP transfer case, the next thing is to identify the make (GM, Dodge or Ford). The casting numbers on these cases are of no help. The Ford transfer case is the easy one to identify since it is a left hand drop (front driveshaft on the driver's side). The Dodge and GM NPs are a bit more difficult. DA: 26 PA:

The transfer case is one piece of cast iron. There is a short bearing retainer/output housing at the tail of the case, and aluminum bearing retainers/seal retainers at the front and rear outputs but the working parts are all in a single iron housing. 2. There is a small idler shaft cover on the back of the with 3 small bolts holding it on. This transfer case functioned identical to others and had a front and rear driveshaft. The entire transfer case assembly was hung from the frame on a crossmember-type mount. The Divorced Atlas can be built as either a right or left drop unit. The shifters and crossmember are sold as a separate kit to fit the transfer case.
